Hello Book Lovers! | أهلاً بمحبي الكتب!

Hello everyone! I’m Dana Al-Basha, I’m a Palestinian Jordanian lady residing in Kuwait. Books have been in my life since I was born, both of my parents are readers and writers. My mom used to read us fairy tales before bedtime. I learned to read at age four, wrote my first story at six, my first poem at nine. There wasn’t a time when books weren’t part of my life, so I can’t separate myself from books, we’re entwined. I can say that books have been the best of companions, the best of teachers, and they always reached me when I needed them most. My favorite book is Al-Quran Al-Kareem. As for literature, I have many favorites but I decided to share with you the ones I read the most like: Twilight, Pride and Prejudice, Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, and She. I love Confucius quote “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.” I try to always love and perfect everything I do, reading taught me that through patience. I also love Thomas Jefferson’s quote “I’m a greater believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.” I try to be present, and enjoy every mind, information, situation I’m in. I think that reading is the secret of joy and contentment.

أهلاً بكم! أسمي دانة الباشا، سيدة فلسطينية أردنية مقيمة في الكويت. منذ كنت طفلة والكتب موجودة في حياتي، فأبواي قارئان وكاتبان. كانت ولدتي في طفولتنا تقرأ لنا القصص الخرافية قبل النوم، تعلمت القراءة في سن الرابعة وكتبت أول قصصي في السادسة وأول أشعاري في التاسعة. لم يكن هناك وقت لم تكن الكتب فيه جزء من حياتي. لا أستطيع الفصل بين حياتي والأدب، فهما متداخلتين، أستطيع أن أقول أن الكتب أثّرتني جداً، كما كانت رفيقتي في وحدتي، وأستاذتي، أرى أن الكتب دوماً تصلني في الوقت الذي أحتاجه. كتابي المفضل هو القرآن الكريم. بالنسبة للكتب الأدبية، فلدي الكثير من الكتب المفضلة ولكنني أرتأيت أن أشارك الكتب التي كررت قرأتها كثيراً منها الشفق، الإجحاف والكبرياء، نساء صغيرات، آن في المرتفعات الخضراء وهي. أعشق مقولة كونفوشيوس “اختر عمل تحبه ولن تعمل يوماً اخر في حياتك” أحاول دوماً أن أحب وأتقن كل ما أعمله، والقراءة علمتني ذلك عن طريق الصبر. كما أحب مقولة ثوماس جافيرسون “أؤمن بالحظ، واكتشفت أنه كلما عملت أكثر أزداد حظي” أحول دوماً أن أستمتع بالمعلومات والعقول المختلفة وكل ما امر به. ارى أن القراءة سر السعادة والاكتفاء.
